If you want to try your best, of course, you need to go to Sicily where they fill the cannoli only when they are ready to eat to preserve the crunchy on the outside.

TRANSLATION

Cannoli are certainly one of the most representative pastries of Sicilian tradition.

You can tell whether a cannolo was made in Palermo or Catania depending on how it is decorated.

In Catania, they use chopped pistachios; in Palermo, they prefer candied orange zest.

Sicily’s extraordinary pastries are rich in colour and elaborately designed.

The famous cannoli are pastry tubes filled with sweetened ricotta and sometimes finished off with candied fruit, chocolate pieces or crumbled pistachios, which are found pretty much everywhere.

Starting from their appearance up to the ingredients used to fill them, cannoli bring to mind this generous Land.

Similar to Etna, the symbol of Sicily, with its stark and irregular appearance, the shell of the cannolo also has an unevenness derived from the cooking stage.

The candied fruit, almonds, and pistachios not only provide an additional touch to the decoration of the product, but they constitute the initial, typical, tasty and chromatic approach to the filling that with the first bite, in contact with the palate, explodes in the mouth in an eruption of flavours.

A Sicilian Cannolo is not only a taste and sensory experience but a way to appreciate a land and its products. A sweet volcano from which burst out the fragrances, flavours and colours of Sicily.
