Ho iniziato la giornata a Campo de’ Fiori.

Ho ordinato un espresso in un bar e bevuto al banco come fanno i romani, poi ho comprato frutta fresca al mercato e l’ho mangiata mentre camminavo in direzione del Foro Romano per una “full immersion” nella vita antica.

Da lì sono andato alla Bocca della Verità.

La prima volta che l’ho vista era nel film “Vacanze Romane”, ma volevo vederla realmente.

A quel punto avevo un po’ di fame, così ho camminato di nuovo verso Piazza Navona per pranzare.

Era giunto il momento di andare a Trastevere.

Amo le sue strade e le ho percorse molte volte.

Sono andato anche alla Chiesa di Santa Maria in Trastevere; l’ho visitata molte volte prima, ma è sempre bello tornarci.

Posso dire lo stesso per la Basilica di San Pietro. Ci sono orde di turisti, ma c’è anche la Pietà, la bella statua di Michelangelo: l’ho ammirata ancora una volta.

… Avevo bisogno di una passeggiata, sono andato a Villa Borghese. Il parco è bello e la Galleria Borghese è assolutamente incredibile.

Non l’ho vista questa volta, ma vale la pena una visita.

Prima di cena ho preso un Campari con le olive presso il “Caffè della Pace”, vicino a Piazza Navona.

Ho bevuto fuori, ad uno dei tavoli. Infine, ho cenato al “Gusto” e ho trovato il cibo semplice ed eccellente, come sempre.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

I started the day at Campo de’ Fiori. I ordered an espresso at a café and drank it at the counter as Romans do, then I bought fresh fruit at the market and ate it while walking in the direction of the Foro Romano for a full immersion in antique life.

From there I went to La Bocca della Verità. The first time I saw it was in the film Roman Holiday, but I wanted to see the real thing.

At this point I was feeling a bit hungry, so I walked back to the Piazza Navona area to have lunch.

lt was now time to go to Trastevere. I love its streets and I have walked them many times.

I also went to the Church Santa Maria in Trastevere; I visited it many times before, but it’s always nice to go back.

I can say the same about the Basilica di San Pietro. There is a multitude of tourists, but there is also la Pietà, the beautiful statue by Michelangelo: I admired it once again …

In need of a stroll, I went to Villa Borghese. The park is beautiful and the Galleria Borghese is absolutely stunning. I didn’t see it this time, but it’s worth a visit.
Before dinner, I had a Campari with olives at the Caffè della Pace, near Piazza Navona. I drank it outside, at one of the tables. Finally, I had dinner at “Gusto” and I found the food simple and excellent, as always.
