Have you always thought about starting to learn Italian but not sure where to start?
There are a lot of different a approaches to learning a language.
How to choose the right one?
The right approach is the one that allows you to enjoy the process of learning and turn it into a pleasant activity which you are eager to do every day.
Find a Method
Enjoyment is the first thing to think, but you also need a method to keep all your words, phrases and rules in the long term memory.
Long-term memory refers to the storage of information over an extended period. If you can remember something that happened more than just a few moments ago whether it occurred just hours ago or decades earlier, then it is a long-term memory.
Short-term memory has a fairly limited capacity; it can hold about seven items for no more than 20 or 30 seconds at a time.
Important information is gradually transferred from short-term memory into long-term memory.
The more the information is repeated or used, the more likely it is to eventually end up in long-term memory, or to be “retained.”
How to memorise all the new information?
Repeat Repeat Repeat
You need to revise what you have learned during few days repeatedly using the method called spaced repetition.
In in short words :
Spaced repetition is a learning technique that incorporates increasing intervals of time between subsequent review of previously learned material in order to exploit the psychological spacing effect. Alternative names include spaced rehearsal, expanding rehearsal, graduated intervals, repetition spacing, repetition scheduling, spaced retrieval and expanded retrieval.Memory technique wiki
