I suoni dell’italiano – How to pronounce Letter C




Most Italian consonants are pronounced like in English.

One exception is letter C.

 

Letter C

 

  • is pronounced like

ch as in “much” before e and i

 

Example: cena / cheena / dinner

 

  • is pronounced like

k as in “King” before o, a and u

 

Example: casa / Kasa / house

 

ch

is always pronounced like

as in “King

 

Example: che / keh / that
